When Truman was 17 days old we moved from Moscow to Orem. It was more than twelve hours of driving. Truman did awesome, he only cried for about 20 minutes and that was when we reached Salt Lake City. There was one point when we had stopped and I had to feed him and he just wouldn’t wake up. We tried many different things to get him to stay awake and eat, even rubbing an ice cube on his belly.
As I mentioned Truman barely cried during the drive but now he loves to cry when he is in his car seat. He has cried for a half hour straight in the car, one would think he would be lulled to sleep but nope. The little bugger.
Now I am settling into my role as a stay at home mom. It’s definitely not exactly how I thought it would be but hey I can’t complain because I get to stay home with my little sweet cheeks and watch him grow. Truman is pretty high maintenance; he constantly wants to be held and is difficult to get to sleep. He doesn't drift off into the sweet land of slumber very easily, he isn’t a child that just nods off on his own (I am attempting to train him though!) He screams at the top of his lungs when he is hungry and when he is over tired. But once he eats he is a happy little elf and once he is asleep he is a sweet little angel. I thought that I was more than prepared to care for an infant but I was mistaken. It took me a couple of weeks to realize that Truman needed more sleep than what he was getting, he doesn’t always show he is tired and can stay wide awake through a nap which then leaves me with a grumpy gus come evening. But his smiles and delicious cheeks make up for any and all frustratable moments.
Along with adjusting to parenthood and moving we were also waiting to hear back on whether or not Dave passed the bar. He did!!! Whoop whoop. Now the real work of job hunting begins. Whomp whomp.
In the midst of all of this our car registration came up. And our car failed the safety and emissions test. It needed a repair thats cost just didn’t seem worth it so we had to buy a new ‘used’ car. When Dave went to look at cars he was pulled over for an expired registration, was given a warning, and was told that the car was put on a list and it would be impounded if the registration wasn't taken care of by the end of September. Anyway, we bought our new car on the 20th and are really happy with it. It was a little crazy to get a new car when your child despises his car seat.
When I write this all out it doesn’t make the last few months seem crazy, maybe it’s just because we have a new baby and that’s such an adjustment... Now to the most important part of this post the pictures.
I love his scrunched lips!
No room for me. This is about the time that Buffy started being ok with Truman- before she wouldn't voluntarily get this close to him.
Buffy likes to now be apart of all things Truman. Always lending a helping paw.

The first three months are the hardest! By four months, things get much easier. By 9 months, you'll be ready for another one :)
Going from 0 to 1 kid is definitely super hard! Nothing can prepare you for it until it happens! It looks like you're doing your best which is all that matters. Micah was really tough to "train." Naomi and Josiah were a lot easier. Some kids are just different. I ended up deciding to just relax about it because I would get so stressed with Micah. It wasn't good for my emotional health! Anyway I hope you're enjoying being a mom!
Three things. Uno... We miss you guys. Two, Truman is adorable. And three, Truman is SERIOUSLY adorable. Sooo happy you updated your blog:)
Happiness!!!
